INFLUENCE IN AFRICA
In today's volatile economic environment, it is important to be linked with organisations with commitment, capability and a world- wide network. The Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a founding member of the Federation of African Chambers of Commerce established in Addis Ababa , Ethiopia and also a member of the International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICC) ( www.iccwbo.org ) in Paris . The Chamber is also a founding member of the Association of ACP Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and other Economic Operators.

INFLUENCE IN WEST AFRICA
At the regional level, the Chamber is a founding member of the West African Chamber's of Commerce established in Freetown , Sierra Leone in 1972. The Chamber also functions as a focal point of the West African Trade Information Network (TINET) set up for Anglophone ECOWAS member-states with technical and financial assistance from the International Trade Centre, UNCTAD/WTO and the United Nations Development Programme, respectively in 1991/92.
The programme aims at promoting intra-regional trade in the ECOWAS sub-region through the exchange of trade and economic data and business opportunities among data and business opportunities among economic operators in the sub-region. The Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry is developing the TINET into TRADE AND INVESTMENT INFORMATION MANAGEMENT CENTRE (TIIMAC). This centre would collect, collate and disseminate information on trade and investment opportunities in West Africa . The Chamber is also a founding member of ECOBANK Transactional Incorporation based in Lome , Togo , now with branches in Cote d'Ivoire , Ghana , Togo , Benin and Nigeria

SIGOA-TOPS
SIGOA-TOPS is the French Acronym for Trade Opportunities System. This is an efficient Trade promotion tool designed by ECOWAS to boost the volume and flow of trade in goods and services between its West African member countries constituting a Geo-Economic bloc of more than 200 million consumers, and between the ECOWAS sub-Region and the rest of the world.
As national correspondents for SIGOA-TOPS, GNCCI communicates to economic operators around the world, information on trade opportunities offered by national enterprises. The Chamber also acts as the link between enterprises and the Regional focal point at the ECOWAS Community Computer Centre.

INFLUENCE NATIONALLY
The Chamber acts as an advocate on behalf of the business community, lobbying the Government, opposition parties, MPs, policy advisors and national agencies.
