Business Support Service

Keep the cash flowing - GROW YOUR BUSINESS

We all want to make a success of our business, to grasp the opportunities that are available to us; but more often there is the one stumbling block that gets in the way - working capital.
The Chamber understands these pressures faced by business today and is working with financial institutions to provide a unique service that is exclusive to our members

Information and Research
The Chamber has facilities for members to undertake basic research into products and markets both at home and abroad. Its library contains over 4,000 works of reference, directories, trade journals, catalogues and Government publications.
The Chamber assists member firms in their marketing function through GROUP-FAX, IDD and Internet services. The facilities encourage the small and medium firms to use these rapid modern means of communication at subsidized rates. The Chamber issues letters of introduction to potential traders (both import and export) and joint venture partners for its members.

International Trade, Fairs and Missions

MAKING OVERSEAS TRADE EASIER
Business overseas can be a maze of form filing, red tape and bureaucracy that can be time consuming for your company and a headache if it's not completed
At GNCCI, our Documentation team are specialist in providing advice and support on all of the documentation your business needs to operate overseas.
This documents and services include:

  • Certificates of Origin worldwide
  • Certification of other export documents i.e. invoices, health certificates, price lists and certificates of conformity.
  • National Standards and Dangerous Goods Shipping Notes
  • International Chamber of Commerce Publications e.g. INCOTERMS
  • Background check and legalisation service for Embassies/Consul in Ghana.

The Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry takes an active part in organising trade missions to and from various countries and assists local and foreign business operators in making business contacts. It has the authority to certify documents relating to Ghana 's Export Trade. With the back-up of the Chamber's export and import experience, and the capacity to attract potential business partners, companies have been successfully introduced to new market outlets; an invaluable service to any company contemplating expansion of its commercial activities.
The Chamber encourages visits by organisations such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the International Trade centre/UNCTAD/WTO and other visiting Trade/Economic delegations and missions. The Chamber provides facilities and makes arrangements for them to meet member-companies wishing to discuss commercial opportunities, both inward and outward.

Human Resource Development
As part of its capacity building function, the Chamber organises Seminars, Lectures and Workshops on Specific subject areas to the business community with an opportunity to update their knowledge in business related subjects.
The Chamber's philosophy is that staff development results in increased productivity, profits and reduced personnel problems. It also believes that a skilled and effective workforce will add to the prosperity of a company. Consequently, the Chamber has developed a wide range of cutting edge professional and business training courses that are carefully designed to meet specific human resources needs within the business community.
GNCCI's training programmes are cost effective because they do not aim at profit maximisation. The programmes are in most cases subsidised to enable even small-scale private and public organisations to take part.
Noting that business operators are very busy and time conscious people, the duration of GNCCI training programmes are kept very short, intensive and efficient- at most 4 days. There are usually two periods with one running from 9am to 5pm for 2 days and other from 4pm to 8pm for 4 days.

As Advocate for Private Business Groups
The chamber maintains a watching brief over activities related to taxation, employment, investment incentives and other issues and makes representations to the Government on behalf of the business community. Further, the Chamber is regularly consulted by the Government on drafting of Legislation to ensure that business interests are represented.

Networking and Business Development
The Chamber provides its Members with opportunities to network on a regular basis and to provide a unique platform for regional business development.
