SUSPENSION OF IMPLEMENTATION OF GHANA CONFORMITY ASSESSMENT PROGRAMME (G-CAP) AND ADVANCED SHIPMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM (ASHI)

The Ministry of Trade and Industry wishes to inform all trade and industry associations that the Ghana Conformity Assessment Programme (G-CAP) and the Advanced Shipment Information System (ASHI) have been suspended indefinitely by Government.

2.       The decision, which was taken by cabinet, is to allow for more multi-stakeholder consultations to ensure a smooth take-off of the two programmes.

3.       Further, the suspension is to give the two Ministries spearheading the introduction of

G-CAP and ASHI the opportunity to explore the possibility of integrating the two (2) programmes with the Single Window System being developed to ensure efficiency and avoid duplication of efforts.

4.       You are therefore kindly requested to take note of this decision and inform your members accordingly.

5.       Counting on your usual cooperation.
