GNCCI signed an MoU with the Government of Ukraine
The GNCCI signed an MoU with the Council of Exporters and Investors under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to boost trade and investment.
The signing of the MoU was done during the opening of a business forum between Ghana and Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integrations in Accra. The President of the GNCCI, Clement Osei-Amoako, signed the MoU on behalf of Ghana and that of Ukraine was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba.
The Ukrainian delegation included the Ambassador of Ukraine to Tunisia accredited to Ghana, Volodymyr Khomanets; Head of the office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Yanevskyi; Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa, Maksym Subkh, and the Spokesman for the Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Oleh Nikolenko.
In his remarks, Mr. Clement Osei-Amoako, the president of the Chamber, expressed excitement about the visit of the Ukrainian delegation and urged the business community in Ghana to seize the chances for business. "Ghana-Ukraine relations have seen mutual benefits; now is the time to expand the relationship into equally important areas," he added.
Madam Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration also underscored the role of state institutions in Ghana such as the the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Investment Promotion Centre, the Free Zones Authority and the Export Promotion Authority, in promoting trade and investment in the country.
