Rwandan High Commissioner to Ghana calls on GNCCI

The Rwandan High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Aisa Kirabo Kacyira, paid a courtesy call on the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

A delegation from Rwanda, led by the Rwanda High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Dr. Aisa Kirabo Kacyira, paid a courtesy call on the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry discuss ways the two agencies can work together efficiently.

The purpose of the visit was to invite the Chamber to the Ghana-Rwanda Business Forum, which will was held in Ghana from October 24th to October 27th, 2022, as well as to discuss how the two countries could implement the policy objectives inherent in the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA), among other trade-related issues.

Mr. Mark Badu-Aboagye, Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber, welcomed the delegation and stated that Ghana and Rwanda share many similarities, including a stable, democratic, and safe environment, which is a foundation for both countries' economic growth.

He expressed his optimism for a potential partnership and pledged the GNCCI's unwavering support in ensuring that the two countries' trade relations improve.

In her remarks, the High Commissioner expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet the Chamber to discuss issues of mutual interest to both countries. She said, the existence of excellent relations between Rwanda and Ghana has enabled her brainstorm on issues affecting the two countries especially in the area of trade and tourism. She noted that, the upcoming forum is a tool to deepen trade and investment relations between the two countries.

In the coming days, the two countries will sign a Memorandum of Understanding to formalize agreements for mutual benefit.
